An afternoon with The Cowboy Prince

In an attempt to inspire his generation to engage and embrace day-to-day life, Charlie Umhau will live as a 19th-century street peddler for the next year. The project - part performance art piece, part local business initiative - consists of selling hand stitched shirts from the back of a 200 pound Amish hand cart.  After his initial travels through Richmond, Charlie will be walking the cart 110 miles to Washington, D.C.

I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon in Charlie’s garage while he painted the cart in preparation for the journey.  This is seriously one of the coolest things ever, and if you’re interested in helping with the project/want more information, check out his kickstarter campaign!
